Video: Belstaff Jackets
We have recently recorded a set of videos showing a range of Belstaff Jackets.
The video below shows an overview of the Belstaff range we stock and if you look at the Belstaff Jackets section of the website you will find detailed videos for each of the jackets.
Video: Cooling Off
In this video we look at a number of ways to manage the ever present requirement of engine cooling. We feature three products that will assist in the process of heat management.
In this case we have the Holden Works Caterham fitted with a 300bhp Rover V8, a real test of heat management - big engines in confined spaces are renowned for overheating.
And it will be HOT this summer in the paddock at Shelsley!
Products featured are:
Kenlow Electric Cooling Fan - EWP Electric Water Pump– Thermo-Tec Exhaust Lagging
Ignition Video 1 – Distributor Wear/Rebuilding/Lumeniton Optronic Electronic Ignition
Shown here is an introduction to our full distributor rebuild service – an explanation of dwell angle and the advantages of replacing points (in effect a switch that burns itself out) with two alternatives that do not wear.
Ignition Video 2 – Fitting the Lumenition Magnetronic Ignition Module
Shown here is the easy step-by-step fitment of a very discreet points and condenser replacement alternative – leaves an original engine bay looking....original!
This is an alternative magnetically switched points and condenser replacement module that fits neatly under the distributor cap.
First off in the latest of a new series of demonstrational videos is POR-15, a remarkable range of rust preventative paint systems that can be seen on this web site.
The object of this is to give our customers information on products and demonstrate application that may not be obvious in the user-guides or photographs. Hopefully educational, if not entertaining! And we are more than happy to hear from you if you think our comments are inappropriate, misleading or we are taking ourselves too seriously!
Also to be covered in forthcoming footage will be the ‘hands on’ activities of the team, restoring, touring, competing and (inevitably) repairing their cars!
Hopefully, a little more interesting than watching paint dry...

Dynalite – The Alternator that’s Designed to look like a Dynamo
We would like to show you the ease of fitting the Dynalite. Shown here is a short clip of us fitting to a 1970 LWB Land Rover. In this application the weight saving is not of prime importance; however the increased power output to run spot lights, winches and other accessories is.
Geoff, the owner of this car having undertaken a full restoration wanted to keep it looking original, spot the difference...if you can!
In coming weeks forthcoming footage will be the ‘hands on’ activities of the team, restoring, touring, competing and, (possibly inevitably,) repairing their cars!
The Dynalite offers around 80% more power whilst at the same time reducing weight by about 40%. Not only do you get the advantages of an alternator but reliability is improved even further as the control box is no longer needed and can be removed or just bypassed if you want to retain the under bonnet look of your classic car.
Dynalite Benefits
Every single Dynalite has been designed, built and tested on the vehicle by Auto Electricians, with specialist knowledge of Classic British and European cars.
The Dynalite has been purposely designed to look exactly like the original unit, for those who want increased performance but wish to keep the authentic, original appearance of their car.
The Dynalite performs like a modern alternator, and will charge across all rev ranges.
The Dynalite will produce up to 40 amps – a huge increase on the original unit, sometimes as high as 40%.
Approximately half the weight of the original dynamo.
All units supplied with a wiring diagram and comprehensive fitting instructions.
Lucas Control Boxes
We have worked with ex Lucas suppliers and toolmakers alike to re-introduce an increasing number of control boxes. The picture above shows component inspection and assembly being undertaken by Roy at our works in Bromyard. We are steadily adding to the number of ignition components - the latest, a standard Lucas 12v coil but modern resin filled and with better performance.
Motoring mail order specialists Holden Vintage & Classic celebrate 20 years in business (31/10/2008) Founded in Hartlebury on 31st October 1988 as Lucas specialists, later moving to Bromyard on 1st July 1994 when the product range increased to include accessories, tools and clothing.
Chris, Colin and Pam have been with the company from its inception and are well known by our customers, many of whom remind us of the early years when they visited the old works in Hartlebury.
A good number of customers are asking “what has happened to the wonderful catalogues you used to produce?” The truth is that the web site has taken much of the resources once used to produce leading catalogues. Three years ago we set out to produce a ‘best in class’ web site which we think was achieved and is a most effective way of keeping on-line customers up to date on offers, prices, news and technical developments. Current catalogues can be downloaded and we plan to have Catalogue 9 available for spring 2009
Some of the management’s time has been spent with sister company development - specialising in automotive aluminium components, supplying several leading car manufacturers and sponsoring the 2007 Le Mans winning Aston Martin
Lucas parts once obsolete continue to be introduced with the many more parts available over the coming months, customers can be kept up to date by signing up to our email news.
