Sunbeam-Talbot overview
During the 20's and '30's the Rootes brothers collected Companies within the motor industry. In 1934 they acquired Talbot and then Sunbeam, and in 1938 Sunbeam-Talbot was introduced to the market. Post-war Sir William Rootes was introduced to Raymond Loewy, better known for his Studebaker designs, and as a result the first really new Sunbeam-Talbots with 'streamlined' bodies were introduced, the 80 and 90 series, which were built in the Rootes factory at Ryton. With the Mark II the chassis was updated with independent front suspension which made it a much more modern car, followed by the Mark IIA and Mark III one of which won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1955. With this last model the marque was renamed just Sunbeam. Over the years Lucas and others supplied parts for Sunbeam-Talbots, many of them being parts common to cars being built by other manufacturers. We stock and supply many of these items, to find them look under the appropriate heading. There are no parts specific to Sunbeam-Talbot listed here but there is an interesting book as shown below: If you are running a Sunbeam-Talbot or are involved in restoration of Sunbeam-Talbots we hope you will find this website useful. It should be noted that we also offer to the Sunbeam-Talbot owner rear view mirrors, sun visors, clothing, oils and other consumables. Enjoy your motoring!
