2019 Highlights

We hope this message finds you well and that you’ve had a great year.

We’ve worked hard in 2019; introduced our new website; new SAP computer system; we’ve joined forces with Retro Classic Car Parts; we’ve brought Colin Beever onboard (our Lucas Electrical Guru); and more. We had a few hiccups (and our greatest apologies if you were affected), but we believe the business is now operating better than ever before.

In May, Colin Beever came on board as our Lucas Electrical Expert. If you’ve been fortunate enough to speak to him, you’ll know that he is a fantastic asset to us.
No matter how obscure the question, he’s an exploding font of vintage and classic motoring knowledge. It’s wonderful having him here, and we are using him as much as possible.
In April, we were proud to be a main Sponsor of the 2019 Bromyard Speed Festival. It was another fantastic event, and we especially enjoyed the reenactment of the ‘Italian Job’ bank robbery. Racing our Caterham V8 around the town was one of the highlights of the year for us.
Throughout 2019 you may have seen us at a few shows including the Beaulieu Auto Jumble, Morgan 110th at Stoke Lacy, the Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb, the Classic Motor Show at the NEC Birmingham and more.
Our new website launched in February 2019, we hope you agree that it is a significant improvement on our old design. Our website is an ongoing project which will continue to grow over time.
Our products went up in a 1914 plane as David Bremner took to the sky in his Grandfather’s Bristol Scout aircraft and our old friend and customer Steve Brooks completed their “pilots Everest”, flying their Spitfire around the world.

You can read more about the Bristol Scout here: https://www.holden.co.uk/blog/rebuilding-history-from-grandads-workshop/
We’ve been continuing to manufacture car parts and have brought in Roy to help teach Neil our in-house engineer some of the secrets of the trade.
In July local, highly-esteemed farm shop and butcher Legges opened their cafe next door to our shop. Not only can you pop in for an incredible and generous cooked breakfast or sandwich while you are grabbing your motoring parts, so can we!
As Colin sifted through our warehouse, he came across stacks of unlisted Lucas Stock. Some of the items were 50 years old, never been used and still in their original boxes. If you’re interested in the obscure parts, check our website, our eBay page or get in touch via phone or email.
We’ve had the privilege of servicing and repairing some awe-inspiring vehicles this year. If you have any questions about this or would like to book your car in, please let us know.
Our 11th Edition Catalogue is still flying off the shelves. If you haven’t got your copy yet, please click here to order your FREE copy
